Direct messages
Talk one to one with anyone in your organisation. Only the two of you hold the keys to the conversation.
Team chat with your Nossic ID
Nossic Talk is end-to-end encrypted chat for organisations: direct messages, rooms and files, locked on your devices before they're sent. Our servers pass on and store scrambled data they have no key to open.
Nossic Talk isn't open yet. When it is, you'll sign in with your Nossic ID: no new password to remember.
The things you expect from team chat, with end-to-end encryption switched on everywhere. There's no setting to forget: every conversation is encrypted from the start.
Talk one to one with anyone in your organisation. Only the two of you hold the keys to the conversation.
A room for each team, project or customer. Invite the people who need to be there; new members get the keys for messages from when they join.
Share documents, photos and recordings. Each file, and its name, is encrypted on your device before it's uploaded.
Find any message or file name as you type. The search index is built and kept on your own device, because our server can't read your messages to search them.
One sign-in for every Nossic app. Your organisation and its members come from Nossic Accounts, so there's no separate user list to keep up to date.
Nossic Talk speaks Matrix, an open, published standard for secure chat, and uses its open-source encryption. No home-made cryptography.
Confirm that a new laptop or phone really is yours, or really is your colleague's, so nobody can slip an extra device into a conversation unnoticed.
Your message history is backed up encrypted with a recovery key that only you have. Lose every device and you can still get your history back with it.
Chats stay on Nossic's own servers in the UK. Federation is off, so no other Matrix server ever receives a copy of your rooms.
The short version. The security page has the details, including what our server can still see.
You sign in with your Nossic ID. Your browser makes its own encryption keys, which never leave it.
When you send a message or a file, your device encrypts it for the people in the room.
Our server stores and passes on the encrypted data. It doesn't have the keys, so it can't read it.
Your colleagues' devices hold the keys to open it, and show the message. Nobody else's do.
Organisation admins can manage members, rooms and policies with an API key from Nossic Accounts. The API never sees message content: there's none on the server to hand out.

Nossic Talk is being built now and isn't open yet. The "Coming soon" buttons on this site will turn into "Open Nossic Talk" on the day it is.
We haven't set prices yet. See pricing; nobody will be charged anything without being told first.
No. Messages and files are encrypted on your devices, and the keys stay there. Our server does see some facts about your use, such as who is in which room and when messages are sent; the security page lists them all.
Sign out that device from another one, so it stops receiving messages. On a new device, sign in with your Nossic ID and enter your recovery key to get your message history back.
At first Nossic Talk runs in your web browser, on any computer or phone. Apps for phones and desktops are planned for later.
Not yet. Calls are planned once we have encrypted calling we're happy with.
No. Federation is switched off, so Nossic Talk only talks to itself, and your rooms never leave our server. That's deliberate: fewer copies, fewer places to leak from.
Encrypted on your devices, signed in with your Nossic ID, built on Matrix.
